Natal 2017: Mensagem do padre Hugo Martins
“Hoje sobre nós resplandece uma luz: nasceu o Senhor.” Salmo 96 (97)
O Natal é a festa de Deus que acampa no meio dos homens para que estes sejam salvos.
Toda a Luz do Natal é enviada à nossa realidade concreta: dor, desanimo, cansaço, solidão, sofrimentos, que podem sentir nesta luz, bálsamo de esperança.
Preparemo-nos para acolher em nós esta luz, na simplicidade e na humildade com que vivemos, na proximidade e alegria para com aquele que se sente/está frágil sendo sinal de compaixão, na convicção e entusiasmo com que aprofundo a fé no estudo e meditação, na caridade solicita para com o pobre apontando caminhos de superação e verdadeira integração, no desligar do “complicometro” das relações de trabalho, família, amizade, acolhendo a diferença que nos enriquece.
A nossa comunidade deve continuar hoje e sempre a aprofundar a sua identidade; valorizando o próximo e abrir as portas aos outros. Ela existe sempre, para ser o berço e cenáculo desta Luz, que brilha para todos os homens e mulheres de boa vontade no meio do mundo. Todos os a que visitam ou ouvem falar dela sintam que nela podem fazer um encontro com Cristo, seja num momento de luto ou de alegria, saboreá-la na mesa do convívio, da Palavra, ou da Eucaristia, na generosidade do perdão, ou no silêncio da caridade, construindo a paz e salpicando felicidade baptismal.
Que o egoísmo e o orgulho sejam superados, e que na simplicidade, humildade, e pequenez, possais encontrar esta Luz e as pessoas, e a alegria e a paz sejam dom através de vós.

Christmas 2017: Message from Father Hugo Martins
“A light shines upon us this day: the Lord is born.” Psalm 96 (97)
Christmas is the feast of God who encamps among men so that they may be saved.
All the Light of Christmas is sent to our concrete reality: pain, discouragement, fatigue, loneliness, sufferings, that can feel in this light, balm of hope.
Let us prepare ourselves to welcome in ourselves this light, in the simplicity and humility with which we live, in the closeness and joy to the one who feels / is fragile being a sign of compassion, in the conviction and enthusiasm with which I deepen the faith in the study and meditation , in charity he asks the poor to point out ways of overcoming and true integration, not to be complicated in the relations of work, family, friendship, welcoming the difference that enriches us.
Our community must continue today and always to deepen its identity; valuing the neighbor and opening the doors to others. It always exists, to be the cradle and cenacle of this Light, which shines for all men and women of goodwill in the midst of the world. All those who visit or hear of it feel that in it they can make an encounter with Christ, whether in a moment of mourning or joy, savoring it in the mess of conviviality, of the Word, or of the Eucharist, in the generosity of forgiveness, or in the silence of charity, building peace and sprinkling baptismal bliss.
May selfishness and pride be overcome, and that in simplicity, humility, and smallness, you may find this Light and people, and joy and peace be a gift through you.
